Talking time - Four weeks on an island (20 min)

7
Imagine you want to stay on a lonely island for four weeks. Make at least 5 sentences in which you name...
  • ...four things which you will take with you.
  • ...what you will use the things for.
  • ...what you will do on the island.
  • ...how you will feel there.
Example

For my stay on the island I will take a toothbrush,

books, a mobile phone and a pair of sunglasses with

me. I will lie on the beach all day and read the books

with my sunglasses on. Using my mobile phone I will

call for pizza and call my parents and friends every

evening to hear some news. After eating the pizza

I’ll use the toothbrush to clean my teeth. I’m sure

I will feel very relaxed and happy on the island!

8
Speak to a partner and present to him/her your sentences. Give each other feedback on your pronunciation and wording. Then, present your sentences in class.

Extra: I pack my bag and in it I put...

9
What will you pack into your bag when you find many useful things (nützliche Sachen) from a shipwreck that can help you survive on a lonely island?
  • In class, play the memory game I packed my bag and in it I put...
Game rules

I packed my bag is a memory game often played as a car game. In the traditional version of the game, one person says I packed my bag and in it I put..., and names any object. The next person then says I packed my bag and in it I put..., followed by the original suggestion, and adding their own. The game continues with more objects being added, and a player is disqualified if they forget one of the previously occurring items or can not think of a new item to add to the bag. The game continues until all but the winner has been disqualified.
