The Simp­le Past is used to talk about so­me­thing that hap­pen­ed in the past.



Struc­tu­re:



> Most verbs have a past tense and past parti­ciple.

We usu­al­ly add -ed to re­gu­lar verbs.



to walk - walked to rain - rained





> But many of the most fre­quent verbs are ir­re­gu­lar:



to take - took to be - was/were
